Join the Art Renaissance in Fall River
The Greater Fall River Art Association, a non-profit corporation, is conducting a four-year Renaissance Campaign to help cover building repairs, improvements, operating costs and funds for student scholarships.
The Association is seeking donations from local businesses, civic and social groups, and individuals who may contribute in their company's names, their own names or in honor of others.
Donations may be made in a lump-sum or in installments over a four-year period. Depending on the amount you donate, donors will be included in one of three societies, named after famous Renaissance artists.
Those who contribute a single donation of $400, or a $100 installment each year over four years will be part of The DaVinci Society. A single pledge of $350, or $75 installments over four years, will earn donors into the Michelangelo Society. The Vasco Fernandes Society will be for those who make a single donation of $200, or $50 installments over four years.
Renaissance Campaign donors will be eligible to participate in invitation-only events throughout the year, including special receptions prior to juried exhibitions and lectures by local artists.
They will also be honored on a Renaissance Campaign Plaque to be prominently displayed at the association's headquarters. Members also will have access to the association's beautiful Victorian home to host their own special events. Regular membership fees will be waived for four years.
"Our goal is to become a focal point for local artists and a leader in art education and instruction, especially for the children of Fall River," said Association president Tiago Finato." The Greater Fall River Art Association at 80 Belmont St., Fall River, MA is calling for artists to participate in Artful Gifts for the Holidays (not juried) Exhibit. Entrance fees are $10/for first piece and $5 for additional pieces with a limit of 3 for 2 dimensional work. Small tables for jewelry, ceramics, postcards, objets d'arte are available for $20/table. Opening Reception Saturday, Nov. 27, 2010 from 5:00 8:00 pm. This exhibit will be open to the public on Saturday, Dec. 4, 2010 as part of the Historic Holiday House Tour. Free gift wrapping with purchases and Art Raffle at both events. Exhibit to run through end of December. Registration and drop off dates are: Friday, Nov. 19 & Sat.
